Tendinitis

Tendinitis is inflammation of the tendon that attaches the muscle to the bone. Symptoms of tendinitis can vary from aches or pain to joint stiffness. Swelling can occur with heat, redness and possible knots in the muscle. Over use of the muscle and trauma from injuries are the most common causes of tendinitis. Chronically irritated tendons or tendinitis is often called tendinosis. Tendinosis involves microtears in the connective tissue in and around the tendon.
